Thanks to Chrissy
04, DecThis post is for Chrissy LeMaire.
This post is written on request: the one and only Rob Sewell invited us at TSQL2sday #94 to write about using PowerShell with SQL Server.
Since this whole site is about that, this is both easy and hard.
In this post I talk about installing the VMWare PowerCLI.
Working with VMWare cmdlets was a bit cumbersome. But now things have changed.
It's a lot easier to install PowerCLI, now that it's available in the PowerShell Gallery.
Today, every PowerShell affectionate DBA jumps for joy. The SQL Server module is available on the PowerShell Gallery.
This means you can now install it with a single PowerShell instruction.
But you better read this first.
DataMinds Be unites the SQL Server professionals in Belgium.
dbatools is a wonderful PowerShell Module for Database Administrators.
Proud to be part of the team that develops and maintains dbatools, I will present a whole day precon on our work, together with Chrissy and Rob.
